What’s in my Cart

Hi Friends!!

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a bit of a health food junkie. Although I did grow up in a very health conscious home, it wasn’t until College that I really started educating myself on nutrition and how the various things you put in your mouth affect not only your body but also your skin.

That’s not to say that I don’t have my moments of indulgence, I just pick and choose whats worth it and what’s not. One of my favorite things is to find healthy alternatives to all my (high-school) favorite foods.

For example, if I’m craving peanut butter toast I don’t deny myself of it I just make it healthier by using PB2 and Light Bread. If you mix the PB2 properly I promise it tastes just as good. It’s obviously not as thick, but who likes that ‘omg my mouth is so dry’ feeling after eating peanut butter anyway?! lol.

Anyways, today on my InstaStory I shared with all some of my favorite Trader Joe’s health-food items and y’all seemed to like it so I figured I should share it here as well…

I promise the Eggplant Hummus and Spread don’t taste anything like eggplant. They are my two favorite Trader Joe’s exclusive products.

Also, the cashier told me Trader Joe’s just came out with a Cauliflower Pizza Crust that they sell in the frozen section– they were sold out when I was there (apparently it’s really popular already) so definitely keep your eye out for that the next time you go!!

Lastly, this non fat plain greek yogurt is what I use instead of sour cream! Or if i’m craving something sweet I add stevia + a teaspoon of PB2 powder and a crack of sea salt. Sounds super weird but I swear it’s so good!

What are y’alls favorite Trader Joe’s finds? I love that I can get out of there with a full cart and still be under $75!

  1. I really need to get to Trader Joe’s again soon! I will definitely be looking for the eggplant hummus!

  2. Yesss, I love nutritional yeast. I’m gonna have to give the riced cauliflower and broccoli a try. I’ve seen them mentioned repeatedly now and might as well give em a go.

    • Hi Kate!

Me too! I put it on everything! Definitely do, it’s such an easy way to sneak in extra servings of vegetables. PS- If you sautee it in a pan until it gets a little brown the texture is MUCH better!

      Have a great weekend!

      Abby
