Pumpkin Patch & World Series Game 5

Sorry for the absence of posts this week!
I spent the week getting all my work stuff
done before heading off to Chi-Town to see my man ๐Ÿ™‚

I originally planned on going up there to celebrate
Halloween, but when the Cubs make it to the World Series
for the first time in 61 years…. it kind of takes precedence.

I got in around 8:00pm on Friday
(as my flight was delayed a couple hours due to the AA plane that caught on fire
at O’Hare… same airport and airline I was using)

Once I got in Mauricio and I quickly changed in to our Cubs
apparel and headed to Kincades Bar where all of his friends
were watching the game. Unfortunately the Cubs lost, but it was still fun!

Saturday we drove out to Didier Farms Pumpkin Patch.
It’s about a 50 minute drive from Lincoln Park (where Mauricio lives)
so we stopped at Panera on the way to grab a quick brunch.

{I ordered the Kale & Quinoa Salad with no Feta and
Dijon Mustard instead of Greek Dressing…. don’t knock it until you try it
along with a cup of pumpkin soup and an apple}

We got to the Pumpkin Patch a little after noon
and spent a few hours just walking through the various activites
{they were quite cheesy, but Mauricio and I had fun with it}

The petting Zoo occupied a majority of our time spent there ๐Ÿ™‚

That night we met up with my sister and her husband for dinner and drinks
at a place called “Three Dots and a Dash”

It’s a Polynesian Speak Easy that you have to walk through
an alley to find. It’s slightly over-priced, but it’s more
of the experience that you go there for to be honest.

The drinks are all very unique- they don’t carry any
main-stream liquor brands and all the cocktails are
served in a Hawaiian themed serving dish with
lots of cheesy straws and flowers and suchย in them.

Don’t come here super hungry… it’s definitely more app style food… this is the entire menu.

Sunday morning Mauricio and I laid in bed
for a couple hours and just relaxed before leaving for the airport.
It worked out because Mauricio ended up having to fly to Michigan
for a recruiting event so we booked our flights at the same time so we could
go to the airport together.

The weekend flew by but it was a very nice weekend together ๐Ÿ™‚

Now let’s hope the Cubs can pull it together for Game 5!

xoxo, abby
