Nutritional Yeast: The ‘Hot’ Food of 2016

hi guys! So sorry I’ve been MIA for a while. But I’m back 🙂

This may seem like a totally random post, but the were doing a segment on the news about the “hot” foods of 2016 (remember when all anyone could talk about was acai and quinoa?) well this year they mentioned the benefits of Nutritional Yeast, which is a supplement/food I’ve been obsessed with for a while now and never thought to mention on here until now.

Anyways, for those of you who have never seen it (my family members hadn’t either) it’s sold in the “health food” aisle at any commercial grocery store, or in the spices aisle at more health focused stores like Whole Foods.


So what’s the point of it? It’s an excellent source of B Vitamins, including B12 (which a lot of people are deficient in, especially if you don’t eat a lot of meat) and the best part- it tastes like cheese! Yes you read that correctly, it tastes like cheese. However, it’s completely vegan and contains no dairy, gluten, salt, sugar (basically if you are on any “no ___” diets, you can still have this lol)

Anyways, I use it on top of all sorts of foods for added flavor- such as egg whites, popcorn, vegetables, salad, salmon, etc.
