Hi friends! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Celebration and got to spend some good quality time with loved ones this weekend.
Mauricio, Marley and I flew into Dallas on Friday evening, luckily without too much hassle. It did start snowing in Boston on Friday just as we were getting ready to head to the airport, but thankfully it wasn’t enough to cause much of a delay.
Marley was a trooper through most of the day, with the exception of the 6-7 minutes we were in the private screening room. The two security officers checking her carrier outwardly said they hated cats and I swear she could sense it! Poor thing. I can understand if people are just like “ehh I’m not really a cat person” but to straight out tell me they hate them and then go on and on about it, was kind of ridiculous. Oh well.
After finally landing in Dallas and getting our luggage— it was nearly 10pm and we were starving so we quickly picked up a to-go order from Chili’s, ate, and went to bed.
Woke up around 9am — had a cup of coffee and a Vega One smoothie, then got ready for the day. There’s an outdoor shopping center right around the corner from my parents house, so I headed over there to return a bunch of stuff as well as grab a few last minute stocking stuffers for Mauricio.
After shopping I came home and helped my mom make some vegetable soup for dinner before my brother and sister-in-law came over for family game night. We ended up staying up WAY too late playing Balderdash (anyone else love that game?) which I miraculously came in second in! I’m usually TERRIBLE at that game so my family thought it would be even funnier to play with me now with the pregnancy brain, but apparently the pregnancy brain actually helps me think of more creative answers! lol.
how cute is Marley?! She wanted to be part of the family game night, but she needed to be higher up than the doggies. lol.
Mauricios family normally does a Family Christmas Brunch at their house, but since they were hosting Christmas Dinner this year, they decided to do it on Christmas Eve instead.
This is the pancake mix they use- HIGHLY recommend!!
After hangin out at their house for a while I came back home to shower and get ready for the candlelight service at church. For the sake of compromising, Mauricio and I decided to do Church with my family (his family goes to catholic mass where as mine goes to a very modern church service) and then dinner with his family.
We started off at my house since we were with his family a good chunk of the night before, then headed to his families house after a very sugar-filled breakfast 🙂 Baby was so happy. lol.
After opening gifts with both families, we quickly showered and got ready for dinner hosted by his parents. Luckily for us, our families are quite close since Mauricio and I grew up together, so we do both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner together. This year they also invited a couple of other close family friends to join us so it was quite the gathering.
And now it’s Tuesday and back to real life…. darn. I’m so excited for next years christmas though because we’ll have a little baby, which just makes every holiday so much more entertaining!! He’s already being quite spoiled by both sets of grandparents, so I can’t even imagine how coddled he is going to be next year when he’s actually here! haha.
How do y’all celebrate Christmas? And what was your favorite gift you received this year?
