I’m so excited for this post because its in collaboration with my absolute favorite protein bar company- Power Crunch Bars.
So I had actually heard of these bars for years and years before tasting them myself (who knows why). And oh my god, now I can never go back. They are like eating a candy bar… but without the guilt.
Anyone who knows me knows I have a snack in my purse (usually half eaten) at ALL TIMES. Usually, a protein bar or bag or nuts – something filling, healthy, and quick. Reason being that I get full very quickly at meal times, which then leads me to be hungry again an hour or two later.
Prior to trying Power Crunch, RX bars were my go-to. (I do still love those as well, specifically the blueberry muffin flavor). But what I really enjoy about Power Crunch is that they cure my sweet tooth without having to send Mauricio to the store for a candy bar.
For anyone who hasn’t tried them, the consistency kind of reminds me of a Kit-Kat bar. My favorite flavors are the Peanut Butter Creme, followed by Chocolate Mint, then Peanut Butter Fudge.
Now that I’m approaching the last leg of my pregnancy, its even more vital that I have a “back up snack” handy at all times. Recently, I took the gestational diabetes test (required during pregnancy) and found out I’m actually borderline hypoglycemia. The doctor wasn’t concerned about it or anything, but it does explain why sometimes I will get super light-headed out of nowhere. Luckily I’m pretty used to this so all I have to do is have a few bites or sips of something with sugar in it and then I’m A-OK again.
Anyway, if you’re like me at all and get sudden bouts of hunger when you’re out and about, I highly recommend carrying these bars in purse/back pack. Or even if you just have a sweet tooth and want to curb it with something tasty but with a lot less guilt 🙂
PS- This little black maternity dress is perfect for any of my fellow mommy-to-be’s out there. It stretches with your belly, so you can literally wear it from week 6 to week 40. In fact, I’m told its great for post-delivery as well since your belly won’t be quite back to your pre-pregnancy size for at least a couple of months after you give birth.
What is your favorite Protein Bar? Has anyone tried The Primal Pantry bars? I’ve recently seen people post about them on Instagram and am curious if they’re actually any good? Tell me down below 🙂
