Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a great Summer so far… I know I’m itching for a vacation. Life has been crazy lately- I just got back in town from Las Vegas for a bachelorette party, and before that I was in Cleveland, OH for a week of training for my new job as a Marketing/PR rep for Diageo Spirits! Cleveland isn’t the most glamorous of locations, but it was actually a pretty fun week. They certainly didn’t spare any expenses- renting out Yacht Clubs, Comedy Clubs, and even the Rock n Roll hall of fame for an hour so that we could do a scavenger hunt around the museum. It also didn’t hurt that it was open bar every where we went 🙂 At the end of the training I flew straight to Vegas for a Bachelorette Party for my friend Megan who’s wedding is coming up in just a few short weeks. This week is my first week in my new role with Diageo, then I’m off to Florida for family vacation. Every year my family rents a little house on the beach for a week and we just relax and play in the sun and eat and drink and it’s just pure bliss.
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells:
This book fell in my lap by complete accident. A couple summers ago I went to the beach without packing any books and desperately started searching our beach house’s small collection. (Vacationers kind of have an un-spoken trade where you leave the book you are finished reading, that way someone else can enjoy it during their trip). I picked up this book mainly because of the unusual title, and fully expected to set it back down until my mom said “hey I read that book! You’d like that!” So lo and behold, I gave it a try and finished it in 3 days. I wouldn’t say it’s a life-changing read, but it definitely had me laughing the whole way through. Perfect for a mindless summer vacation read.
