10 Day Wedding Prep

Hi friends,

Ahhh I can’t believe that I will be waking up a married woman in just 11 days! I remember picking our date and venue and thinking “wow thats 13 months away… why even bother planning yet?” lol how wrong I was.

Although we are pretty much settled with all of the ‘important’ wedding details, there is still so many little things that come up the weeks leading up.

On top of that, Mauricio and I are dealing with moving our stuff across the country….separately! He is moving his stuff on a moving truck from Chicago to Boston and I’m basically just packing up what I can in my car and selling the rest.

Then we have to figure out how to get my car there on the exact date that we fly in. oh my. Oh did I mention we also have to fine-tune our honeymoon details? Of course it’d be easy if we were doing something like an all inclusive resort or a cruise where the details were already laid out for us, but no. That’d be too easy. We chose to galavant through New Zealand and Fiji…. lol.

Don’t think I’m complaining, we are truly blessed, I’m just explaining the madness going on over here right now and hopefully justifying to y’all why I haven’t been as active on the blog lately.

I promise to get on a regular schedule once we are settled in Boston and I have more of my life together 🙂

Anyways, let’s get on to wedding prep. I’ve always enjoyed reading/watching ‘day in the life’ and ‘morning/nightly routine’ type posts, so I figured I’d do a little of my own.

One thing I think all brides worry about {even more than usual} when you get closer to your wedding is what our body and skin are looking like.

Of course we all want that clear dewy skin and want to feel confident in our body as well. So I’m going to share with y’all some of the thing I’ve been fine-tuning in my diet to try to make sure I’m as ‘wedding ready’ as I can be.


Drinking LOTS of Water

I know everyone hates reading this one because its such a cliche, but it really is true. I notice a huge difference in my skin when I don’t drink enough water. If you’re like me and get your breakouts on your forehead, not drinking enough water could absolutely be the cause.


Drinking Green Juices Daily

I actually really enjoy the Suja Uber Greens and have no problem getting 2 servings of these down a day. I buy the big bottles of them from Whole Foods for $9.99 which is WAY cheaper than buying individual bottles.

Eating lots of Healthy Fats

This sounds a little counter-intuitive since you’d think if you wanna slim down then you’d avoid fats. Not necessarily true. Minimizing empty carbohydrate filled foods and replacing them with healthy fats actually really stimulates your metabolism and gets the digestive system flowing. Foods like Salmon and Avocado are also known to be ‘clear skin foods’.

My current favorite snack is Rosemary Flackers with Avocado and Sea Salt. So yummy!


Getting a facial

I just recently went to get a facial from Ann at Stonebriar Spa (no incentive, just really love her). I let her know my wedding was two weeks away so that she could make sure to extract anything she saw forming and doing some detox masks on me. It’s also super relaxing 🙂


Getting some Sun

okay so this one is a bit controversial. Normally I only get spray tans. However, for my wedding I want to have a bit of a natural tint so for the past couple of weeks I’ve been making sure that I get some ‘real’ sun exposure so that I don’t end up being an oompa-loompa shade on the wedding day.


Trip to the Salon

Let’s be honest, being a bride ain’t cheap. But don’t penny pinch on the highlights. The last thing you want is to get your pictures back and realize your roots were terrible. Go ahead and spend the money and make a trip to the salon so that your color is looking fresh for your day.


Teeth Whitening

There’s two routes you can go with this: go to your dentist and ask what they charge (what I did) or just get some crest white strips from walgreens and save a few bucks. The latter takes a bit longer to see results but it’s definitely cheaper.

Okay now on to the good stuff, what a days worth of eats looks like for me:



2 cups Hazelnut coffee with stevia and splash of un-sweetened almond milk
1 glass of Suja Power Greens
So Delicious Coconut Yogurt with Blueberries

Another glass of Suja Power Greens


Big salad-
Mixed Greens, Hearts of Palm, Grilled Chicken, Green Olives,
other 1/2 of Avocado with Balsamic Vinegar, Greek Seasoning and Nutritional Yeast


Salad Tip: Nutritional Yeast + Hearts of Palm make a salad 1,00ox better! Oh and Avocado of course.


Mid day snack:
Rosemary Flackers
with Avocado and Sea Salt

6oz Wild Salmon and Asparagus– with sea salt garlic– Bake at 450 for about 20 minutes



2 pieces 0f 85% Dark Chocolate (I use the baking bars and break it up)
Glass of un-sweetened vanilla almond milk


What are y’alls clear skin and anti-inflammatory diet tips?

I’m such a nerd about these things, I would love to hear any other tips I didn’t mention!
