Holy Cow! We’re at 33 weeks! I can’t even believe how quickly our due date is approaching.
Baby is now the size of a…. PINEAPPLE !! Hard to believe something that big can even fit in there! Our bodies really are quite amazing. I was watching a video about how a womans organs shift in preparation (and throughout) pregnancy- its incredible….. and also really weird. ha.
sweatshirt: sold out, but similar option here
Sperry boots (I sized .5 size down) here — ON SALE for $83.97!
Lulu Lemon Align Leggings (great for pregnancy)
I also like these leggings which are more affordable, but only when I’m NOT pregnant… too high waisted for pregnancy IMO. Great otherwise!
On to the update:
How Far Along: 33 Weeks
Movement: Oh yes. I think he’s running out of room in there because I can now feel pretty much every little thing he does in there. I’m also convinced that he’s flipped already because I’ve been feeling some pretty strong jabs to my ribs lately that I can only imagine are coming from his feet.
edit: Went to the doctor today for our check up and doctor confirmed that yep, he’s flipped!!
How I’m Feeling: I’m feeling surprisingly well still. I do get the occasional dizzy spell, which leaves me kind of tired for the rest of the day. But other than that, my energy has been pretty high! I’ve been in the ‘nesting stage’ this week, so I’ve been doing a lot of de-cluttering, cleaning, etc.
Workout/Diet: As I said above, I’ve actually had a lot of energy lately so I’ve been good about going to the gym on a daily basis again. I just do 30 minutes of light cardio and then some stretching, but still- I’m happy with that! As far as diet, most of my cravings have subsided so I’m back to eating mostly healthy foods. EXCEPT for the days I get the dizzy spells, those days I try to eat something a little junkier just because those types of foods are usually quick-digesting so the sugar can get straight into your bloodstream. Pregnancy tip: ALWAYS carry some type of sugary food/candy bar in your purse- you never know when you might all of a sudden feel faint and need some sugar ASAP.
Weird Symptoms: So I’m back to having the vivid dreams like I had during the first trimester. I wake up and remember everything I dreamt about and recap them to Mauricio. They never make any sense and are usually kind of sad/scary which I don’t appreciate much.
A couple other physical symptoms I’ve had are (maybe) Braxton Hicks Contractions … I’m not positive thats what I’m having, but I explained it to my mom and she said it sounded like Braxton Hicks. Basically my stomach just gets really hard all of a sudden and I have a much harder time breathing for like 60 seconds or so, and then I’m back to normal. They aren’t painful, just annoying.
Edit: Yep, doctor also confirmed- those are braxton hicks contractions.
Also, I get the occasional dead leg (I’ve only noticed it in my right leg for some reason). Apparently it has to do with the way the baby is laying. I guess if he is pinching a nerve it would make sense that my leg would go numb… but the first time it happened I was SO weirded out. I was actually at the gym and had to leave because I was like ‘ummm okay cool, I can’t workout if I can’t feel my leg’…. LOL.
And lastly, Baby Hiccups!! Such a weird feeling! It also makes me feel so sad for the little guy! However, I have found that propping myself up when I watch tv has helped him not to get them as much. Maybe a coincidence, but I’m going with it.
How We’re Preparing: So we actually went to a full-day new parent class at the hospital last Saturday. We chose to do this instead of the weekly lamaze classes just because its easier to fit into Mauricios schedule. It was 8 hours (ya…long day) and I would say it was like 20% helpful. We did definitely pick up some useful information, but we probably could have consolidated it into an hour or two rather than 8. Oh well. We DID learn CPR which was super helpful, if god forbid we ever run into that situation.
We also had our baby shower a couple weeks ago and have been receiving lots of gifts in the mail, so we are starting to get those set up and organized. Our infant car seat arrived yesterday and something about seeing that sitting in our living room made it feel so real… like woah, we’re legit going to be parents soon!
And there ya have it, 33 weeks along!! Crazy!
What else do y’all wanna know? Oh ps- we aren’t keeping the name a secret…. we just literally haven’t decided yet. LOL. Ya, that convo needs to happen asap.
