Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine unfortunately consisted of lots of soup eating and Netflix bingeing. Saturday morning Mauricio and I woke up around 10am and quickly got ready to head to one of my accounts (for those that are new to my blog, I work as a brand rep for Diageo spirits) to have brunch and buy some Captain Morgan cocktails for some other guests.
Shortly after, I dropped Mauricio off at the office (theme of the weekend) with the intention of going out and running errands, but decided to turn around and go back home due to a terrible headache. I think all this snow + pregnancy hormones have just really taken a toll on me lately. So rather than being productive I spent the entire day + evening laying on the couch dozing in and out of sleep and watching The Crown (highly recommend).
Sunday I woke up feeling quite a bit better, but with SUPER sensitive teeth and gums. Apparently this is a normal side-effect of pregnancy, but is completely awful. Ya know that feeling you get if you leave White Strips on your teeth for too long? Ya, its that feeling…. except all the time and your teeth are NOT whiter. UGH. It’s okay though, we’re in the home stretch! A little over 11 weeks until we see our little one!
So I did end up going out to a few more of my accounts on Sunday before running to Target and then eventually heading back home for some more couch potato time. Although I’m feeling a bit better today, I did start to get super light-headed while at Target and decided I had probably done enough for the day and needed to go back home and rest before I made myself worse again.
Anyway, poor Mauricio has been working like a dog all week and weekend, which has left me plenty of time to write and schedule some new blog posts for yall this week!
Something I’ve always loved seeing from other bloggers are there ‘favorite things’ posts. As much as we all wish we could just go out and purchase anything and everything, its just not feasible. So here are the items that were my absolute favorite purchases (or gifted) items from 2017.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream: Actually Magic! I know its pricey, but its worth every penny. Literally makes your skin glow! If you’re not ready to splurge, but interested in trying it out- start with this gift set that includes a smaller size tub of it! PS- I only use this in the morning- I don’t like to waste it by using it before bed.
YSL Glow Shot Liquid Highlighter: Makes you look like you just got back from a tropical vacation! I’ve been doubling this as a highlighter and a eyeshadow primer!
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair: Basically the less-expensive version of the Kiehls Midnight Recovery. So hydrating!!
Flash Patch Eye Gels: Ya know those mornings where you wake up and you randomly look like you got punched in the face? Ya well, these are amazing. Whether you didn’t get enough sleep, have allergies, or just simply ate too much salt the night before- these are amazing!!!
Lawless Lip Stick: Ya know those Suja Green Juices I always post about? Ya well, the girl who came up with those now has a natural beauty line and I’m obsessed. This is my favorite pinky-nude shade for daytime wear.
Marc Jacobs Dew Drops: Can you sense a theme? I’m all about the ‘Glow Life’ right now. Want to fake a pregnancy glow? This is how. Apply on the tops of your cheek bones, center of forehead, chin, and bridge of nose.
Brow Wiz : Best brow pencil hands down. It has a super fine tip so you can draw natural looking hairs and not look so obviously drawn on! I use the shade ‘soft brown’. Looking for a drugstore dupe? I’ve used this one and it’s honestly pretty similar!!
Curling Iron: Hands down best curling iron I’ve used. I’ve turned so many of my girlfriends on to this one. The barrel is the perfect size and allows you to get those big soft curls everyone wants.
Oribe Travel Set: I pretty much love all Oribe products, but I recently got these cute little travel size bottles and they are amazing. Usually travel sets way over-charge you, but these are actually pretty comparably priced with their full size bottles. These are also great for if you’re interested in trying out their products, but don’t want to pay for the full sized versions until you know if you like it!
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: Favorite concealer of all time. Trust me, once you get this you’ll never go back. It also lasts forever- I use mine almost every day and I’ve had the same tube since April.
Dior Mascara: Favorite (designer) Mascara hands down. It’s actually not too terribly expensive considering its Dior and considering how long the tube lasts me. However, if you’d like a non-designer favorite- this is my favorite drugstore mascara- I always have a tube of both of these on hand.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: BEST PIMPLE CREAM EVER. Trust me. Side note: Keep the bottle sitting up-right and don’t shake it. It’ll look like the liquid has separated, but it’s supposed to be like that. Stick a q-tip in the bottle straight up and down, holding it at the bottom for a few seconds before removing. Apply it to your breakout, let it dry and harden (I use it before bed), and within 2-3 mornings it’ll be gone- depending on how bad it was. Trust me, this is the best one out there and isn’t too harsh for sensitive skin.
Okay I think that was everything. What have been your favorite beauty products lately? Leave them down below!
